One Day are excited to announce the next One Day Sundays which will be taking place on Sunday 25th of May at The Vic in Enmore.

For this very special edition of ODS, we are thrilled to host legendary turntablist/producer DEXTER as a guest DJ as well as welcoming back the Thundamentals' DJ MORGS alongside resident One Day DJ's JOYRIDE and ADIT.

Four-time Australian DMC champion Dexter is a former member of The Avalanches, the Melbourne electronic group whose seminal debut album ‘Since I Left You’ is widely regarded as one of the most important Australian albums of the modern era. Dexter has been described as ‘a man who singlehandedly reworked the genre of sample-based music’; his DJ set at One Day Sundays is set to be nothing short of legendary.

Sydney crew and long time friends to the One Dayers THUNDAMENTALS have been kicking some serious goals with the release of their new album 'So We Can Remember'. We’ll be celebrating the end of their completely sold out national tour at May’s ODS with DJ MORGS (Thundaz/Jones Jnr) rocking the The Vic providing our monthly dose of block party freshness.

Come and join people from all over Sydney (even interstate) in one of the city’s best beer-gardens for an afternoon/evening of dancing, basketball, live graff and incredible food and generally awesome vibes – plus, it’s FREE!

  • Gig News! Sprung Hip Hop Festival 2014

Sprung Crowd, Sprung hip hop festival, All Aussie hip hop festival

SPRUNG FESTIVAL. Australia's Number 1 all Aussie Hip Hop event is back for 2014 after another smashing year in Brisbane in2013.

After Sprung's attempt at expansion in Melbourne unfortunately met with licensing and venue issues leading to the cancellation of the Melbourne show, the Sprung Hip Hop crew have stepped back from their plans of potential cat stroking world domination and decided to put a nailing effort into continuing to make SPRUNG Brisbane the must see calendar event that it has been for the past 3yrs running.

After 6months of planning and washing last year's dirty taste out of our collective mouths, SPRUNG is happy to announce that it will be held on Sept20th in the out door and indoor setting of The Eatons Hill Hotel and Entertainment Centre,

So when you've locked in that date, hold onto your hoodies peeps because SPRUNG FESTIVAL is set to unleash another cracking All Aussie Hip Hop line up later this month.

"This year the format is going to be very much that of the original one in 2011 with some nice surprises to come. We are very excited for 2014 and looking forward to bringing the All Australian Hip Hop festival back for its 4th year in Brisbane"-says one of the event's organizers Josh Taylor of Cassette Entertainment.

Previous years have seen the likes of The Hilltop Hoods, The Funkoars, Thundamentals, Seth Sentry, Kerser, Illy, 360 and Drapht along with a plethora of Aussie Hip Hop's most talented mouthpieces.

So all of you interstaters get your long haul mixtapes ready, lock mum in the back shed and get ready to high tail it to sunny Queensland later this year for what will be without a doubt another life changing Hip Hop festival likened to coming face to face with the almighty himself.

That last part may or may not be true, attendee reactions may vary ;).

LA COKA NOSTRA  - Australian Tour 2014

LA COKA NOSTRA - Australian Tour 2014 LA COKA NOSTRA - Australian Tour 2014

Founded in late 2005 with no intentions of recording an album, La Coka Nostra was more a collective of artists who knew Danny Boy than a super group. They are a breath of fresh air in these days of contrived airbrushed rap music. LCN isn’t trying to gloss shit up in the least. They like it crusty and gritty the way rap music should be and feel that somewhere along the lines, people forgot about groups like the mighty WuTang Clan, Ultra Magnetics and Cypress Hill. We forgot the dirty raw esthetic these groups had but LA Coka sure didn't. They embrace the darkness stench and all and aren't afraid to be celebrate it.

4 mixtapes and 2 EP’s later, Slaine, Danny Boy, DJ Eclipse and Ill Bill are finally bringing their rawness down to Australia in the form of an Australian wide tour presented by LCNAUSTRALIA.TV, with tickets on sale from 7th May.
