New Music Clip! Briggs - Bad Apples.

    Briggs Sheplife

Shepparton local and Golden Era Records rep Briggs has recently released his latest clip Bad Apples from his third full length album 'Sheplife'. Bad Apples features well put together aggressive style lyrics along with some hard hitting raw scenes shot from a remote area in country Victoria. This is one of the most powerful clips to drop from the Australian hip hop scene this year. Briggs (The unofficial mayor of Shepparton) has recently taken out the National New Talent of the Year Award at the National Indigenous Music Awards.

Critically acclaimed hip hop crew Daily Meds are back in force with the first single ‘Behind the Radar’, from their as-yet-untitled second LP; follow up to their Australian Music Prize nominated debut record ‘Happy Daze’.

More energetic and with more blatant power than ever, Daily Meds deftly bridge the gap between the familiar and much-loved local hip hop scene, and a new generation of Australian electronic music, inhabiting a new reality ‘Behind the Radar’, where people lie, behind enemy lines, underground and out of control.

Blending politically-charged, rapid-flow lyricism, large bass-driven beats and up-front female vocals; Daily Meds have further solidified their unique, forward-thinking sound with a song that tells stories, demands answers and holds to account those who would seek to hold back honesty.

Sonically melding producer Roleo’s hip hop, dance and indie-pop influences to create an increasingly angry, driving, landscape which, intriguingly, creates an urge to dance, ‘Behind The Radar’ hears MCs Mikoen and P.Smurf – two of the most distinctive rappers and intelligent lyricists in Australia’s hip hop arsenal - nailing parallel powers of war, popular culture, politics and nature with trademark double time bars and indignant questions, propelled by the power of Billie Rose’s vocals, which become increasingly fierce as the outrage heightens.

MC’s P. Smurf and Mikoen, producer Roleo and vocalist Billie Rose uploaded their first song ‘Everybody Get Pumped’ to Triple J unearthed in 2009, shortly after the independent Sydney four piece formed as a collaboration between prominent members of the Inner West beats and hip hop scene. The almost immediate ‘unearthing’ by the youth broadcaster was all the encouragement the crew needed to launch their own label/artist collective ‘Big Village Records’, along with their extended circle, dropping a self-titled EP.

With a ferocious live show and their reputation on the hip hop scene burgeoning Daily Meds were invited to support legends Wu-Tang Clan, DJ Premier, Rahzel, Horrorshow, Urthboy, Drapht, Thundamentals and many more, with local hero Ozi Batla [The Herd] describing Daily Meds as “my favourite crew out right now.”
