Context - Rogue Astronaut EP

Raised in the Canberra, landed in Melbourne. Context creates a hip-hop sound reminiscent to mid 90s New York.
With cheeky lines, pocket flows and a heavy UK influence – a unique sound emerges. A man of many styles, Context shifts between comical and introspective concepts over a mix of self produced beats and those of like minded producers.
A solo EP titled Monkey Bars formed the starting point for collaborations with Jimmy Flipshyt. Context and Jimmy
went on to release two EPs creating an early 90s boom bap sound with a CBR/FNQ twist. Slow breaks, heavy bass
and effortless flow, saw the duo receive JJJ airplay and support various touring artists (R.A. The Rugged Man, High
Focus Records, P.Smurf, Dialectrix etc).
After almost two years in hibernation, Context has landed back on earth to show us what he has been working on.
Under the guise of Joe Syzlak, Context has been in the lab cooking up endless beats and mastering his production
skills. It is these beats that have formed the backbone of Context’s latest solo EP – Rogue Astronaut. With incredible
artwork by Mark One87 and on point visuals by Dayne Edward – this EP is of astronomical proportions. Rogue
Astronaut is OUT NOW via Lab Co and Capslock Collective.
